For as long as I can remember I have always loved taking pictures.  I have boxes and boxes of pictures that I took starting in High School.  I love what cameras do, they capture a memory that I can look back on and cherish for the rest of my life.  The problem back then was that we used film and you never knew what you captured until you got the pictures developed and my family was less than thrilled when they saw all the candids I took of them. Update…

Update…

I know, it’s been a while since my last post but, I have been without my computer for 2 weeks and instead of fighting and getting frustrated with Nate’s prehistoric laptop I have just decided to take a break from the blog.  (phew, that was a long sentence.)

There really hasn’t been much going on around here.  We live in Syracuse so we’re stuck in our house going stir crazy from the 142 inches of snow we’ve received already this winter.   Let’s hope we’ve seen the last of it and Spring is around the corner.

We signed OG up for swim lessons.  Because of her age she’ll be placed in the “water babies” class but what the program says they will teach her, she already knows but I know she will have a blast.  OG is definitely a water baby, she loves to swim and go under the water and hates it when it’s time to get out.  I’m excited to get her into something to burn off all the energy she has because running around the house isn’t cutting it.

I am researching a new project for us and it is taking up a lot of my “extra” time.  I hope to be able to get it up and running within the next year.  So, stay posted and I hope to be able to bring you good news on this subject.

Here is a video I took with my new phone.  I hope it will keep you happy until I get my computer back.

12 Days of Christmas Giveaway

12 Days of Christmas Giveaway

If any of you know me then you know before I purchase anything I almost always do a lot of research and read a lot of reviews to decide which product is the best for what we need.  My latest project is a double stroller, I have researched them for almost a year now and I have finally decided on a Bumbleride Indie Twin  (now I just have to save up to buy it).

As many parents of multiple (young) children know there’s a need for a double stroller and there are so many to choose from and it can be overwhelming.  There is a certain website that has helped me tremendously when it came to picking a double stroller that was best for us; www.babygizmo.com.  Baby Gizmo is a site that has almost every product that a parent would need and more.  What I like best about it is that they have great reviews from real moms on the products and video reviews on the strollers from the founder of Baby Gizmo; Hollie Schultz.  I have referenced Baby Gizmo for more than the stroller and the reviews and the products have never let me down.

For this Holiday Season BabyGizmo.com is having a 12 Days of Christmas Giveaway, 12 Days! 36 Winners! Thousands of dollars worth of prizes! Not only can you enter to win these prizes starting tomorrow but even if you don’t win there are going to be 2 runners-up for each of the 12 days who will win 5 pairs of BabyLegs Leg Warmers .  BabyLegs are a necessity in our home with our 2 girls.  Both OG and AK have worn BabyLegs since they were born and we love them.

So, please check out Baby Gizmo for all of your baby needs and don’t forget to enter 12 Days of Christmas Giveaway everyday starting tomorrow for your chance at winning some great gifts.  Also, if you have a blog make sure you share this giveaway with your readers and email the link to contact@babygizmo.com to be entered to win a $250 Visa Gift Card.

Hey Daylight Savings Time…YOU SUCK!

Hey Daylight Savings Time…YOU SUCK!

Ever since I had OG I have had people come up to me and ask me if I’ve been able to get any sleep with a baby.  I hate to brag about it but my kids are sleepers, ever since OG was born she has slept through the night.  The first week she was born I had to wake her up to eat. OG has always loved her naps and has slept at least 12 hours through the night, never waking up before 8am.

When we had AK I was nervous that she was going to be the opposite of OG and we were going to experience all the horror stories we have heard from parents whose kids get their days and nights mixed up.  But, fortunately for us AK also slept through the night, almost every night.

Then came November 7th, 2010, Daylight Saving Time.  Both girls still love their naps and go down to bed at night with no problem between 8-9pm.  The problem is that OG is now getting up anywhere between 5:45-6:30am and AK is waking up around 6:30am.  Nate and I both love our sleep and I like being up early but not this early.  I even kept them up later a couple of nights to see if that would work and it didn’t.  I thought that it was only going to last a couple of nights but here we are 1 week later and nothing has changed.

The “fall back, you get another hour of sleep” saying is a big fat load of crap when you have children.  I just hope that the girls get used to this time change and they go back to sleeping in, for the sake of my sanity and their young precious lives.  If not, we will be moving to Arizona, Indiana or Hawaii ( I choose Hawaii) in order to get sleep all year round.
