In late 2006 I had the opportunity to live with my mother’s best friend, Linda and her husband Kevin for 4 months in Easthampton, Massachusetts while Nate and I were awaiting a transfer that never came through. Linda and Kevin took me in their home and treated me as one of their own kids (they have 2 adult children, Victoria and Kyle) and I am forever grateful to them for their generosity.
Last year at Christmas time Linda and Kevin were given the best gift, they were told by Victoria and her longtime boyfriend, Chuck that they were expecting a baby in August 2011. Then, earlier this year Victoria found out that she was having a baby girl. We were all so ecstatic for for Victoria, Chuck, Linda and Kevin.
After living with Linda and knowing her for so long it was odd that Victoria and I had never met, well that changed this past April. Victoria is everything Linda described as, she is exceptionally beautiful, she has an infectious personality and she lights up the room. To say I was excited to meet her was an understatement.
I was able to spend more time with her at her baby shower, where I was able to meet Chuck and again at Alexis’ 1st birthday party. Victoria was so excited to become a mom but, it was a long and sometimes difficult road for her. Sometimes you have to face challenges in your life in order for something really special to come along and, come along she did.
On Wednesday July 27th 2011 at 10:18am, Miss Charlize Marie Binion was born. With parents like Victoria and Chuck and Grandparents like Linda and Kevin she is going to be one special and lucky little girl. I can’t wait to meet Charlize and see Victoria again. Hopefully we can make this happen sooner rather than later.
