Partnership

I am very excited to announce that I have partnered up with WhatToExpect.com.  I practically lived on the whattoexpect.com forum and read the book while I was pregnant with both of my girls.  Not only do they have books for What To Expect The First Years and What To Expect The Second Year but they are making a What To Expect movie with a very hot cast.  So, be on the look out for additional information and giveaways and be sure to check out my What To Expect button on my sidebar and find out all the great things they have to offer expecting and new parents.

Happy Birth Day Charlize Marie

Happy Birth Day Charlize Marie

In late 2006 I had the opportunity to live with my mother’s best friend, Linda and her husband Kevin for 4 months in Easthampton, Massachusetts while Nate and I were awaiting a transfer that never came through.  Linda and Kevin took me in their home and treated me as one of their own kids (they have 2 adult children, Victoria and Kyle) and I am forever grateful to them for their generosity. For as long as I can remember I have always loved taking pictures.  I have boxes and boxes of pictures that I took starting in High School.  I love what cameras do, they capture a memory that I can look back on and cherish for the rest of my life.  The problem back then was that we used film and you never knew what you captured until you got the pictures developed and my family was less than thrilled when they saw all the candids I took of them. Update…

Update…

I know, it’s been a while since my last post but, I have been without my computer for 2 weeks and instead of fighting and getting frustrated with Nate’s prehistoric laptop I have just decided to take a break from the blog.  (phew, that was a long sentence.)

There really hasn’t been much going on around here.  We live in Syracuse so we’re stuck in our house going stir crazy from the 142 inches of snow we’ve received already this winter.   Let’s hope we’ve seen the last of it and Spring is around the corner.

We signed OG up for swim lessons.  Because of her age she’ll be placed in the “water babies” class but what the program says they will teach her, she already knows but I know she will have a blast.  OG is definitely a water baby, she loves to swim and go under the water and hates it when it’s time to get out.  I’m excited to get her into something to burn off all the energy she has because running around the house isn’t cutting it.

I am researching a new project for us and it is taking up a lot of my “extra” time.  I hope to be able to get it up and running within the next year.  So, stay posted and I hope to be able to bring you good news on this subject.

Here is a video I took with my new phone.  I hope it will keep you happy until I get my computer back.

My New Bestie

My New Bestie

The terrible 2′s are at a peak in our house and it has been very difficult lately, especially for me.  OG is a very independent, smart, fun, little girl who never stops.  She runs around the house and talks non-stop from the moment she gets up to the time we put her top bed at night.

Before AK was born we were beginning to OG go from a baby who did everything she was told to an independent, it’s my way or a tantrum toddler.  Nate and I saw this chair in a store and we knew right away that we had to buy it for our home.

We’ve always called OG our “social butterfly”, she loves to be the center of attention and love to interact with everyone.  So, the thought of being put in another room on her Time Out Chair is something that pushes her over the edge.  We’ve been getting a lot of use out of this chair lately but I have found out that I don’t necessarily have to put her on it but threaten to put her on it and it straightens her right out.

This chair has made our life a little easier but OG still finds herself on it a couple of times a week if not more.

Too young to know better

Too young to know better

If you haven’t noticed, I haven’t posted a lot of pictures of OG lately.  I think she’s tired of having a camera in her face all the time and now refuses to smile or runs away when we pull the camera out.  We have taken about 3000 pictures in the last year, that is just on the Nikon and doesn’t include a couple 1000 more on our phones.

Because of OG’s strike I have recruited a new model and as of right now she is very happy to get the attention of mommy.

I will keep trying to get pictures of OG but until then you will be seeing more pictures of this beauty.

Lovebug

Lovebug

The last 6 months have been the most challenging and the most rewarding of my life.  You challenge my patience, you challenge my time, you challenge my hygiene.  When I was pregnant with you I worried how I was going to be able to love you as much as I love your sister and where I was going to get the energy and time to give both of you individually.

I don’t know how, but you did it.  When you came into my life my heart grew and I love you and your sister more than I could ever imagine loving anyone.  You definitely keep me busy and there never seems to be enough hours in the day but I love every minute of it.

I love that you are so cuddly and that you love to be held.  I love that everything that your sister does makes you laugh.  I love that you have to be able to see me at all times or you get upset, even though it can get frustrating for me sometimes, I still love it.

I love that your face lights up when I walk into the room.  I love that when you smile your nose crinkles up.  I love that you are so ity bity.

I love that you made me a mom for a second time.

You are my lovebug.

Snow

Snow

We live in a city that averages about 120 inches of snowfall a year and the 2010-2011 season has started out with a bang.  In the last 4 days over 30 inches of snow fell and it is still coming down.

This is what fell on our truck overnight (7 hours)

I took this picture myself with the timer at 6:30 this morning.
